Digital media receiver (DMR) or digital media adapter (DMA) is an entertainment that can connect to home to retrieve digital multimedia files (such as music, pictures or video) of your PC (or other media server and play it on your home theater system or television .

DLNA organization referred to this device as representatives of the digital media receiver (DMR).

Digital media receiver can connect using a wireless home network (802.11bb IEEE, G, N) or wired (an Ethernet). DMR includes a user interface that allows users to navigate through your media library, search and play digital multimedia files. DMRS designed to handle various different tasks. Some DMRS business only with music, dealing with some songs and pictures, some handle music, photos and videos, while others go so far as to allow browsing the Web or control live TV on your PC with a TV tuner.
